After a few years on the Boston club circuit under the tutelage of their first manager Frank Connelly, the band began to work together with New York managers Steve Leber and David Krebs. In 1972 they signed a recording agreement and debuted their first album. The album was immediately followed by Get Your Wings and Toys in the Attic and Rocks. This brought Aerosmith international fame and recognition. The albums produced famous hits like "Dream On", Walk This Way, "Sweet Emotion" and "Walk This Way". Aerosmith's first five albums have also been multi-platinum and Toys in the Attic and Rocks are widely regarded as one of the best hard rock albums of all time. The decade passed, however, the band's chaotic schedule of traveling, recording, and living together started wearing them down. Tyler and Perry were often referred to as Toxic Twins, for their legendary intake of stimulants and heroin. Their relationship is well documented in numerous Aerosmith's video albums and in the Aerosmith Behind the Music. Tyler was more committed to Aerosmith than Perry and had a resentment of Perry for his passive attitude. Perry, on the other hand, was envious of Tyler's priority of women in his life. Aerosmith was in a state of decline in the 1980s due to tensions between Perry and Tyler.
